Who is Peter McCully?

Peter McCully lives In Parksville on Vancouver Island in British Columbia with wife Barbara and is Publisher of the Parksville Qualicum Beach News.

Until June of 2011, Peter was Publisher of the Gulf Islands Driftwood Newspaper and AQUA Magazine, on Salt Spring Island where he and Barbara lived for 12 years.

In his early teens Peter volunteered as a camera man at the local cable station in his hometown of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Bitten by the Radio / TV bug, Peter worked at a series of radio stations in New Brunswick, Labrador and Nova Scotia, and has had many great jobs including promotions, morning show hosts, programming and news directorships.

Peter has owned a small newspaper and run an advertising agency along the way.

A self confessed political junkie, Peter has been a 4 time elected municipal councillor, worked on many municipal, provincial and federal election campaigns, served on various health boards, as well as Chamber of Commerces on both coasts.

Peter served as Chairman of the BC Legion Highland Gathering for 5 years in the 90's, and has served as bass drummer for the Duncan Legion Pipe Band, the Salt Spring Legion Pipes and Drums and the Mt Arrowsmith Pipes and Drums.
